Life's Full Of Expectations

A concept developed by the Dutch Sociologist Ruut Veenhoven[1], this is a proxy measure of well-being combining subjective data (subjective life satisfaction, measured on a scale of 0 to 10) and objective data (life expectancy).

Happy Life Years = ( Life Satisfaction x Life Expectancy ) / 10

It depends on a particular person and their perception of their life's goals. I feel Expectations add to the fullness of your life. Dreams and goals you set for yourself are expectations of what and how you want to get in life. Without any expectations. life is mondane and stagnant. Many people prefer not to have expectations as to not be dissapointed in what they could not do.

Life has three 'parts':

We experience the present, we remember the past and we expect the future.

The questions that arise from this are:

Is the present really as we experience it? Was the past truly as we remember it? Based on our memory of the past, will what we presently experience have the effects we expect?

But the main point is that you should take things within your limit and not to overexceed what you're doing or stress might just be your number one enemy!

I'm glad that I've yet to have any wardrobe malfunction. My clothes I wore for the past few days may not be like the oh-wow-great-style but they were not of those ew-you-have-bad-fashion-taste.

I've decided to pick a random but clean and nice hotel to bunk in for the night. It costs $60 for that night. What a great way to spend the night, having homemade dinner, looking out from my window to see the great view; great view from my room at the 8th floor. Too bad my camera couldn't capture the spectacular view at night.

Absolutely stunning. Yes, this is Singapore. Look at how beautiful my country is. Maybe, you should stop for awhile from your busy schedule and go to somewhere nice and quiet that you can admire and relax at. Sometimes, by just doing that, you can see, even the smallest thing like red ants building their nest may look fabulous to you.

Take a breather. Relax. I look out of the window, enjoyed the view and smelt the fresh air. Life, it's always full of expectations.
