One Missed Call And That's It

Cinemas have seized or should I say shortened the showtimes for one missed call in Singapore because it isn't doing well and that we all know that it is the remake of the Japanese one missed call.

Surprisingly, it's doing rather well in the states with it being in the top 3 for the first two weeks but it began to slip from the top 10 whereas in Singapore, it did not even make it to the top 10.

The producer did some tweaking and twisted the plot at the very end. I understand this movie better since its in English and it has much more meaning than the japanese version.

All the actors are unknowns therefore there is the lack of omph to even watch the show. If, lets say, there was sarah michelle gellar or jennifer love hewitt, then maybe that adds to a whole new meaning to the movie.

From the start till the end, if you have noticed, the main actress, worn the same outfit again and again and again.

If they want to emphasize oon the 3 Rs - reducing, reusing, recycling, then they did a pretty good job or reusing and recycling and reducing. Reducing; budget of the movie. Reusing; the same clothes over and over again. Recycling; the same story plot.

The actors were not credible. Their actings were stiff.

Notice the second and third photos, the actress wore the same outfit. Anyway, that's not the point.

This show wasn't all that bad.

Phone rings. *Ring* *Ring*

Ah lian reached out for her phone but it stopped ringing already. It was a missed call. She called her voicemail and listened.

She could hear nothing at first, then all was distorted. Seconds later, she heard a voice.

"Ah lian... ah lian... ah ma coming for you..."

Ah lian screamed to the top of her voice.

I give this movie 2.5 / 5.
