Love The Fashion, Ditch The Past

Most starlets would rather miss an event than show up looking anything less than perfect.

But Rihanna, the Paper magazine cover girl who was honored at a dinner at D'Or at Amalia last night, is too good a sport to let a wardrobe-cramping injury keep her in her hotel suite. As a crowd that included Mischa Barton and Fisher Stevens gathered to dine on Mediterreanean-inflected fare, she explained that she'd broken her toe on a recent holiday in Mexico.

If you're angling for an easy appearance on the best-dressed pages, there are less challenging pieces to wear than this severely chic one-shouldered Jil Sander sheath.

But Kate Bosworth, seen here at last night's L.A. premiere of The 11th Hour, has the confidence—not to mention the cool, blonde, and no longer quite so skeletal good looks—to pull it off.

She really look like Kristen Dunst in the above photo.

Personally, I think Anne Watanabe looks great in anything.
