The Staycation at Puteri Pacific Johor Bahru

Few staff at the reception, services was VERY VERY slow. Staff kept going to the back office & suddenly went MIA making the guests outside wondering what had happen.

Room was spacious but definitely need to do some refurbishment to their hotel rooms & bathroom. It is totally worn out. Great huge tv, there were some stains on the bedsheet. Bathroom comes with basic amenities.

1st and the last I'll be staying here. Great location and we see this hotel as a good potential hotel if the operations operates smoothly & being lead by a great leader but sadly.. Services here totally sucks!

Requested for a new kettle because the kettle in our room wasn't working. Called the reception a total of 5 times. They replied, "yes, yes, coming."

Waited and waited and waited and waited but the chambermaid only brought the kettle an hour later.

The Stay at Riverview Hotel

The room is a good size, with a queen size bed, a work desk and the wardrobe comes with a safe big enough to put my laptop and other stuff in.

The bathroom is of a good size too.

Breakfast is served in the ground floor restaurant with both local and western meals available every morning 6am to 10am. The menu for lunch and dinner is pretty good too.

Behind the hotel is the Singapore river and on the opposite bank are restaurants offering western and asian cuisine. There's a bridge connecting the hotel to the opposite bank. A short walk from here is the Robertson Quay with more restaurants and with another short walk to Clark Quay which is a party place. There's also a MRT (subway) station at Clark Quay.

Generally, this is a nice hotel in a nice location with lots of choices for F&B and entertainment. Oh, there's a lounge with live music in the premise too. Unfortunately, the hotel swimming pool and gym were out of service during my stay.

The Stay at M Hotel

The most miserable staff are on reception. So the first and last interaction with the hotel are negative. The girls manage to produce a perfect replica of what is known as a welcoming smile but really look like they are stressed and miserable. Strange, as all of the other staff, from kitchen service staff to cleaners were incredibly friendly. The food for both the breakfast and lunch buffets was excellent. The room was large and comfortable. The MRT is a 5 minute walk away. All in all, a good experience.

2nd Time in a Month. DoubleTree By Hilton

I am back again at Doubletree by Hilton for the 2nd time this month already!

Hotels in Singapore are great for a quick getaway but they can be rather expensive if you do it often enough. Besides, many luxury chain properties in Singapore have been around for some time and are therefore showing signs of age.

One of the best things about being in Singapore is that you are always a short flight or drive away from another country. The rooms rates at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Johor Bahru is amazingly affordable if you compare it to a hotel of similar standards in Singapore. I would highly recommend you to plan the route you are going to take instead of aimlessly driving (especially if you are new to Johor Bahru) - click HERE for directions provided by the hotel staff.

The bedroom comes with a comfortable king-sized Sweet Dreams bed as well as an impressive view of the straits. There is a separate air-conditioning control for the room so you can be sure to keep the whole suite nice and cosy (or frosty if you will).

The beautifully designed bathroom consists of a standalone bathtub as well as a walk-in rain shower. I personally loved the design of the bathroom since it's easy to maintain and aesthetically pleasing with clean design lines.

Your bedroom will also come with a 40-inch LCD TV with a selection of international and local channels. During my stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Johor Bahru, I faced some issues receiving satellite channels due the heavy downpour outside. However, this was quickly rectified once I restarted the TV. In case this happens to you, try switching it off and back on to see if that resolves the problem. Otherwise, you may have to contact one of the friendly staff to help you out.

If you require more pillows, feel free to order some from the pillow menu and grab an extra one that is hiding in the wardrobe. Contrary to popular belief, ordering from the pillow menu is unlike the in-room dining menu. Everything from the pillow menu is complimentary although a little tip for the staff that brings it up wouldn't hurt. An ironing board and iron can also be found should you require all your clothing to be crease-free.

The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Johor Bahru is the perfect place to go to if you are looking for an alternative staycation destination. The BAR for basic rooms start from MYR 340++ (approx. S$150 after taxes) and the One-Bedroom Suite that I stayed in goes for MYR 640++ (approx. S$280 after taxes) on BAR. Advance Purchase rates are generally 10% off BAR. At the time of writing, there is a Hilton Premium Club rate which offers an impressive 30% off BAR. Basic Guest Room is only MYR 238++ (approx. S$105 after taxes) a night under the Hilton Premium Club rate. If you have some Hilton Honors points, a night in this beautiful property is only 5,000 Points.

Four Points by Sheraton , Penang.

I was amazed by the change on this “other side” of town. My earlier visits last year has primarily been limited to the city centre, and the transformation on the road from Island Plaza to Sheraton Four Points Penang had me staring open-mouthed as the hotel shuttle drove past.

I for one, didn’t remember the sea here to be so blue, the area around the hotel so well connected to basic necessities like a Tesco hypermarket, a few bustling food courts and a stretch of beach perfect for either the tranquility.

The gentle caress of the sea breeze and soothing view of the blue sea greets each guest the moment they arrive at the hotel. Wonderful!

All basic amenities are complete for a comfortable stay. The bed is invitingly comfortable.I really liked the nice chaise lounge by the window and the coffee table which encourages you to seat by the window and enjoy the seaview while sipping a cuppa.

For a deluxe room the space was sufficiently roomy. I liked the fact that this being a beach hotel the rooms are not fully carpeted and had a carpet only within the radius of the bed. It helps to keep the room clean, not just for this stay but also in the long run; for guests can be expected to bring sand back with them (can be through their footwear, beachwear, hats, etc) from the beach.

The bathroom is small and can only fit one pax at any time; unless of course you want to cozy up with your mate. I had no complaints, and personally felt that the room did live up to its expectations of a 4-star hotel.

A Fabulous Stay at Hotel Sentral Seaview Penang

Hotel Sentral Seaview Penang is the first hotel that welcomes you along the beach line of Tanjung Tokong.

It is just ten minutes away from the city of Georgetown where you can find pre-war buildings and colonial homes, that still stand today with great pride.

DoubleTree by Hilton is the BEST PLACE for Staycation

Established on 1 July 2014, DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru is one of the newest additions to the city's hotel scene. Situated in the heart of Johor Bahru's Central Business District, the hotel is just 5 kilometres away from the Woodlands Checkpoint and 25 kilometres away from Senai Airport. Its accessibility to Singapore and Changi International Airport makes it particularly ideal for business travellers.

DoubleTree by Hilton is just a stone's throw away from City Square Mall (0.5km), Sultan Ibrahim Building (1km) and Johor Zoo (1.5km). You can also take a walk to Jalan Dhoby, home to popular hipster cafes and the best chicken chop in JB. Having stayed here not just once but twice, both for a span of about 3-4 days, I can certainly attest to the hotel's strategic location.

There are 335 well-appointed guest rooms, including 22 apartment-style suites. After a long day of meetings or activities, you can look forward to unwinding in the comfort of your room with DoubleTree's signature Sweet Dreams® bedding. If you end up falling head over heels in love with their bed, you also have the option of purchasing it here

Each room is equipped with wireless internet access, a must-have for every business traveler (or Singaporean traveler, since most of us are addicted to social media) and a 40" LCD TV with a wide selection of local and satellite channels.

The location of the hotel is perfect for sight-seeing, shopping and cafe-hopping.
