KATY Perry has fired the ultimate parting shot to husband Russell Brand and unfollowed him on Twitter.

Perry has removed Brand, who goes by the handle Rustyrockets, from the 83 people she follows on the social networking site.

Brand, who filed divorce papers in December, still follows his estranged wife.

Brand famously uploaded a picture of his wife without any make-up without her permission. He was forced to take it down by an irate Perry, who is famous for her trademark kooky clothing and overly made-up face.

Katy Perry has pulled out of the People’s Choice awards in the wake of her split from Russell Brand.

She has cancelled her planned appearance at the ceremony Wednesday night, which would have been her first public appearance since Brand filed for divorce on December 30, ending their 14-month union.

She wrote on twitter: “Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! (sic)”

Perry, 27, is up for seven awards at the ceremony, including Favourite Female Artist.
