In the wake of the big announcement thatAmerican Idol 2013 producers attempted a mid-season swap of Jennifer Lopez for Mariah Careyat the judges table, neither Mariah or Nicki Minaj stopped for post-show backstage interviews this past week.

American Idol: The Year of the Women

I firmly believe it is the Year of the Women, after years of male domination. No woman has won since Jordin Sparks in 2007. By male domination, I mean in terms of victory, not talent – I think Crystal Bowersox should have won Season 9 and there have been many strong contenders, including Jessica Sanchez last year. But this time the sheer amount of talent on the women’s size is dominant.

American Idol Winner - Philip Philips

After much anticipation and a record setting 132 million votes from viewers, Phillip Phillips was finally announced the season 11 winner of “American Idol.”

On Wednesday night’s (May 23) finale episode, both of Phillips and Jessica Sanchez took the "Idol" stage one last time before finally finding out who took home the coveted title.

I don't think Philip Philips can make it far. He don't have the star quality.
