The 24-year-old, who's been nominated for STOMP's inaugural Singapore Citizen Journalism Awards, says he finds the content put up by citizen journalists 'spicier' than traditional media as it comes from a ground-up perspective.

Monkey Business In Broad Daylight

This half-dressed woman was spotted in the heart of the Lengkok Bahru estate, leading a STOMPer to suspect 'monkey business' being conducted.

Ritz had heard from his friends that the scantily-dressed woman first appeared two weeks ago from 11 July, and she would be standing by the road, waiting to be approached.

"Queue Up! Don't Snatch Our Cabs"

I detest cab snatchers!

This man was refused by taxi drivers and told off by a bunch of teenagers to queue up for a cab instead after he attempted to jump the queue.

STOMPer Ritz was waiting for a friend near the Clarke Quay taxi-stand at about 11.30 pm last night (8 July) when he spotted what he calls "the cab-snatcher".

The 22-year-old national serviceman wrote to STOMP in an email:

“The queue was long but this Caucasian guy stood somewhere before the taxi-stand and abruptly persuaded every taxi that arrived to take him first.”

Foodstall Staff Talks On Phone And Neglects Customers

Such poor service.

STOMPer Ritz is irked that this foodstall staff at a foodcourt in the basement of Peninsula Plaza seemed to be paying more attention to her phone conversation than to her customers.

The 22-year-old National Serviceman was at the foodcourt at about noon today (8 July 2007) when this incident happened.

According to him, two female customers approached the foodstall staff to make orders, but were totally ignored by her, although she was aware of their presence.

The Pretentious Woman

There's nothing wrong for falling asleep in the train but what if you saw a pregnant woman and then pretended to sleep. Well, in the end, she did really fell asleep, thus the snoring.

STOMPer Issac Ritz was so disgusted with the lady on the train travelling on the East-West line, that he took this picture of her sleeping yesterday (4 July 2007) at 11:40am.

The 22-year-old NS man told STOMP that a pregnant lady had boarded the crowded train at Buona Vista and stood near the lady (in picture), who was sitting at the corner seat.

“She refused to give her seat up to the pregnant lady and fell asleep instead. She even starting snoring,” he said.

Helping An Old Man

As a medic, I promised to save lives even after work. If I have the skills, I should put it to good use.

STOMPer Ritz sent in this picture of an old man he had helped near Jalan Bukit Merah this morning (July 1).

Ritz was on the way to his camp when he spotted from a distance, the old man holding his forehead and slowly falling to the ground.

He quickened his pace but did not hurry as there were plenty of people walking around.

“I started running when I saw no one was actually stepping forward to help the poor old man”

Being trained as a combat medic, Ritz checked the old man’s pulse when he reached him and sat him up against the pillar. Following which, he ran to the nearby 7-11 to get fluids for the old man and to request the cashiers dial 995.

An Indecent Act In Broad Daylight

My entry caught STOMP's attention and here, it was published at STOMP's site.

A young couple was caught by a STOMPer today (Jun 29) publicly kissing and fondling near his house at Jalan Bukit Merah. From his picture, it appears that the couple had gone beyond kissing.

Said the STOMPer, "I was working on my computer and decided to take a breather in my balcony when I chanced upon this scene in the very public park shed!"

He added that since it was 10am in the morning, there were quite a number of people like older folk accompanied by children who were making their way to the market nearby.

"It was also near a staircase landing so it's the least private place possible. The couple would stop when people were nearby and resumed when the coast was clear."

The STOMPer wonders why these two young people could not have picked a more private spot.
