Jakarta Trip The Last Day

We didn't do much on the last day. William brought me to Pik, an exclusive place in Jakarta. We went to eat at a Indonesian restaurant, Sendok Kapuas.

After that, it was goodbye to them and Jakarta! I want to thank William for my birthday gifts which were a trip to Jakarta, a hotel stay, brought me to restaurants and celebrated my birthday at Grand Hyatt. I want to Ferry for accompanying us and telling me more about Jakarta's history.

Dinner at Grand Indonesia with my Friends

Ninety-Nine Restaurant, Grand Indonesia

Ninety-nine at Grand Indonesia is probably the only restaurant in Jakarta that manages to pull-off an outdoor-feel, while actually being inside a shopping mall!

As ninety-nine is related to Ranch Market (an upper class supermarket chain that's reputable for its great quality & selection of fresh fruits) so you can expect the ingredients used in ninety-nine's menu to be just as great.

Brussels Spring Cafe, Central Park

Did you know that the capital city of Belgium is Brussels, and that the most famous delicacy from Belgium is not only Belgium chocolate, but also its waffles? Just like the fried fritters (eg: tahu sumedang, pisang goreng, tempe, etc) that we can find on the streets in Jakarta, waffles are sold by mobile vendors or carts on the streets in Belgium!

Brussels Spring is an established name from Bandung, which has so far opened 2 outlets in Jakarta. Not only can we find waffles and other Belgium treats, in Brussels Spring we can also find a wide range of western food as well as several all time-favorite Indonesian dishes, at affordable price that suits young adults or college students' budget. But of course, anyone else are welcome to hang out here.

For the price, the food actually taste better than my expectations, so this is good.

Gado Gado Cemara

Gado Gado, various steam-cooked vegetables with peanuts sauce is becoming more popular, and this gado gado cemara, located at Jl. Tanah Abang V/36, Jakarta Pusat (previously at Jl. KH Wahid Hasyim, perhaps first place at Jl. Cemara, Jakarta Pusat). has unique taste.

The peanut sauce is TO DIE FOR!

Eating at this small restaurant or take-away will give no different taste, as the conditions of vegetables are the same.

We ordered a few other dishes but nothing beats the Gado Gado!

The Birthday Celebration at Grand Hyatt, Jakarta

Celebration at Grand Hyatt. Felt like a prince! Thanks William and Ferry. I also got a chance to meet the youngest fashion designer in Jakarta, Johan Gaga.

Jakarta Trip Day 4

Set in a 200-year-old building on the northwestern corner of Fatahillah Square, Batavia Cafe is the second oldest building in central Jakarta after the Fatahillah Museum. Come visit Cafe Batavia and step into 19th century Jakarta during the colonial era!

Bandar Djakarta Hidangan Laut

First, about the place. If you ever been to Jakarta then i think you must've heard about Bandar Djakarta before. It's a seafood restaurant with a market-like concept where you go and choose your own, live fish/clams/lobsters/whatever else that live in the sea and edible.

Thank You Agus for the Birthday Cake!

I want to thank my new friend, Agus for the birthday cake!

Jakarta Trip Day 3: Kota Tua and Monas

Jakarta Trip Day 2

William brought me to Garuda, a restaurant where they serves Nasi Padang.

Nasi Padang is a Padang steamed rice served with various choices of pre-cooked dishes originated from Padang city, the capital of West Sumatra, Indonesia. Nasi Padang (Padang-style rice) is a miniature banquet of meats, fish, vegetables, and spicy sambals eaten with plain white rice, it is Sumatra's most famous export and the Minangkabau's great contribution to Indonesian cuisine.
A Padang restaurant is usually easily distinguishable with their Rumah Gadang style facade and their typical window display. Nasi Padang window display in front of restaurant usually consists of stages and rows of carefully arranged stacked bowls and plates, constructed and filled with various dishes.

The Avocado drink is uber sweet but I love it!
