The End For Buffy the Vampire Slayer

After watching Buffy's season finale, I was glad that it had ended with a bang and not a whimper. I've definitely grown with the series and the characters feel like a group of friends that I have gotten to know.

I personally loves the way the show explores a lot of interesting issues, like death, faith, friendship, loneliness and hardship. The characters have acquired depth and dimension over the years.

I favored the plots for season 6 and 7 as there were many twists in it.

In Season 6, the gang hopes to bring Buffy back from the dead with a magic spell as Giles makes preparations for his return to England. Later, a feral Buffy clawed her way out of her own grave and came to the aid of her friends.

She however was crossed into the mortal world from another dimension. Alongside with that, she had to deal with the trio of slackers, Andrew, Jonathan and Warren who tried to take over Sunnydale.

As the story goes by, Xander and Anya, the vengeance demon decided to get married but it falls through and Tara worries about Willow's reliance on magic.

When magic crystals infuse Warren with superhuman strength, he and his friends embark on a crime spree, leading to a confrontation with Buffy that ends in a tragedy.

Willow turns to the dark side when her, beloved Tara was shot by Warren. She then tried to take over the world but all went well when Xander made the attempt to cajole her with his sweet talks and memory jolting past that brought Willow back to her ownself back.

In Season 7, Buffy and the gang had to deal with the First and new potential slayers were discovered. But Buffy has to get to them first before the First does.

The First created a huge army of Turok-han but with Buffy's small group, they would not be able to defeat the First even though they had Willow on their side. What they need was manpower.

In the upcoming episodes, more new potential slayers were discovered and to give courage and confident to the potential slayers, she brought them to the Thunderdome for them to witness the battle between Buffy and the Turok-han.

Victory was on her side.

Buffy staggered out to face the potentials. "I don't know what's coming next," she called up to them. "But I do know it's gonna be just like this - hard, painful. But in the end, it's gonna be us. If we all do our parts, believe it - we'll be the ones left standing. Here endeth the lesson." She strides away as the potentials smile in sudden, new confidence - and follow.

At the end of the episode, Buffy and her gang and the potential slayers had defeated Evil but Sunnydale was no longer there; demolished, gone. A few potential slayers died during the battle. Anya died while protecting Andrew and Spike sacrificed himself to save the world.

However, Buffy the Vampire Slayer has never won a major industry award. Although Sarah Michelle Gellar was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in TV-Series - Drama in 2003, she failed to take home a trophy.

But that does not really matter, when the show had won me over.

Signing Off,
