Afterwards, we went to National Museum of Fine Arts.
The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA; Chinese: 國立台灣美術館; pinyin: Guólì Táiwān Měishùguǎn) is a museum in West District, Taichung, Taiwan. NTMoFA was established in 1988, is the first and the only national-grade fine arts museum in Taiwan. The major collections are works by Taiwanese artists, covering modern and contemporary Taiwanese arts. The museum covers 102,000 square meters, including the Public Outdoor Sculpture park, marks it one of the largest museum in Asia.
The National Taiwan Museum was opened in June 26, 1988, under the auspices of the Taiwan Provincial Government’s department of education; it was originally named Taiwan Museum of Art. It was established under the policy to strengthened cultural development, on the basis of the needs of the people and recommendations from figures in the world of the arts, held by Taiwan Provincial Government.
