Last week, “The One” jumped from #9 to #4 on the charts, buoyed by slashing of the single prices on iTunes to well under a dollar, a maneuver that helped her get fifth single “Last Friday Night” to pole position.
The One” slipped from 4 to 5 on the charts this week, switching places with Flo Rida’s “Good Feeling.”
The song continues to climb in airplay, moving from 6-5 on Radio Songs this week, but treads water in download sales, holding at #6 on the Digital Songs chart. Sales of the B.o.B. remix will help with that next week, as the remix version of the song is currently at #40 on the iTunes charts—about the same level of boost Katy got from the Missy Elliott “Last Friday Night” to get it to #1 but that was when Katy’s original version of “Friday” was still at #2 on iTunes. Right now, Katy’s original “One” has slipped to #7 on the iTunes charts, after making it as high as #4.
Will Katy Perry's "The One That got Away" be number 1?
I wish it will but judging from it, highly doubt so!
