Yes, finally the day has come. It was my staycation at Holiday Inn Express at Clarke Quay. Though the queue's long, it was worth it! It was understandable as the next day was a holiday. So the hotel is fully booked.
The service staffs was nice, smiley and efficient. One of their service staffs, Nadia was really friendly and polite and paid extra attention to me.

With about 80 rooms on each floor, this is a pretty large property with over 500 rooms. The rooms themselves, are spacious and functionally designed.
A small work desk and chair with adequate electrical outlets and lighting (from the window, a work lamp and overhead). I love my queen bed which was just next to small night tables on either side along with light controls and one easily accessible electrical outlet. Lighting is also good for reading in bed with both side and overhead sources. There is a clock/iHome device which supposedly allows docking an iPad/Phone/Pod for playback.
There's a counter with coffee/tea making equipment, a fridge and safe. Next to it is a area to hang your clothes.

Also available are both a swimming pool and gym facilities, both are outdoors. And pretty good wifi system in both the rooms and lobby/lounge areas.
I love the pool! OMG! There's also jacuzzis on the far left of the pool! And not forgetting the fitness room. I spent 3 - 4 hours suntanning and swimming while the next 2 hours in gym! Awesome!

Holiday Inn Express is near Clarke Quay, across Merchant Road from the core of CQ. It's a 5-7minutes walk from the MRT station (exit B, cross Merchant Rd, turn right and walk about a km until you see the tall black building and the green HIX sign on the roof. Walk along Magazine past the car park entry and you'll come to the main entrance to the hotel and the long front desk is right in front of you.
I'd recommend that you stay at Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay. They're really very organized. The day I checked in, it was so crowded but the staffs were very good, patient and all-smiles even when the customers reprimanded them for the littlest things.
The room's clean, spacious, rain shower and they have a very nice clean swimming pool and fitness room!
I'll give this hotel 4 / 5. I want to stay here again!
