Greyhound Cafe at Siam Center

Greyhound Cafe' is designed with a uniquely elegance personality to give the restaurant a bit of spice. It is modern and stylish atmosphere yet easy and welcoming. The cafe' offers delicious Thai and fusion Asian style menus. It is definitely the place to enjoy fine food while chat and relax with good companies.

This next cafe should be no stranger to most of you. Greyhound cafe and all their various sister branches (not to mention their amazing fashion arm as well)  are always my go to places for meals when I have friends who are all too used to the platinum food courts and the street side food and want something different.

All Greyhound Cafés have a consistent look- a contemporary, industrial chic- combining  metal, wood, exposed ceiling ducts, and raw concrete- accented with some quirky touches to the furnishings.

The menu is fairly extensive and they always have seasonal/festive options that are good to try as well. I don’t remember a single thing that wasn’t tasty in the many times that I’ve gone to Greyhound but there are definitely some items that in my opinion are a must try!

If you’re looking for a thirst quenching drink beyond the usual smoothie or milkshake, give the Granita a try. They come in three flavours: Thai Tea, Yok Lor and Nom Yen. Thai Tea is obviously the signature thai milk tea that you see selling everywhere in bangkok but when made into a granita, the flavours are intensified and it is super satisfying. Similarly for the Yok Lor which is Thai Coffee. Between the Yok Lor and Thai Tea, my vote goes to the Yok Lor! I haven’t tried the Nom Yen which seems to be like a Rose Syrup or Bandung type of drink but I’m certain it’ll taste great as well.

And then there's the Ice Lemon Tea. Just a craving for me.

Next up is this seemingly simple dish of Complicated Noodles. The ingredients you see are minced pork, thai green chilli, lettuce leaves and noodle sheets. How you eat it is really pretty much up to you, I start with the lettuce leaf as a base then add on a layer of noodle sheet then minced pork and finally top it off with a little sprinkling of green chilli. It might not sound very tasty but you must try it because the flavours blend together so well and it comes together so nicely when you taste it.

Video on how to eat the complicated noodle is at the end of this entry.

This dish is a little mysterious in a way that you might not find it in all Greyhound Cafes and I’m not sure why that is the case. It’s a crab meat pasta topped off with mentaiko. Once again another seemingly common dish but somehow they just manage to bring it up another notch and turn it into a dish that is really unforgettable.

And the Elvis Burger with fries. One of the staffs told me why the Burger was named Elvis because Elvis Presley love eating burgers during his days. I see no relation whatsoever. LOL.

The burger tasted delicious but the fries were a tad too salty.

If you’re looking for a great tasting meal with simple and tasteful decor, you definitely need to check out Greyhound Cafe.
