Al-Amaan is a great place for people to hang out, chill and have their favorite prata or rojak or fish and chips.
I tried a few dishes when I was there.
Ayam Penyet or Smashed Chicken in English is a type of Indonesian Fried Chicken which is prepared by lightly smashing the chicken and cooking it twice, first by boiling with herbs and spices then deep frying. The Ayam Penyet at Al-Amaan Eating House is so flavourful, tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
The servings offered more sides with some tempeh, tahu goreng, cherry tomato and a stick of cucumber.
Club Ethis invested in My Father's Recipe and the Green Kebab, helping the young entrepreneurs start up their stall.

The Green Kebab serves kebab which is a balance and healthy meal. You can get some at Al-Amaan.
There's different types of drinks to choose from.
We tried the Fish and Chips and Nasi Lemak from My Father's Recipe stall. Personally, I love the fish and chips.
These days, fish and chips is very much a part of our local cuisine. From hawker centres to restaurants, this much-loved dish is available nearly everywhere.
However, due to localisation, the preparation of fish and chips in Singapore may not stay true to the authentic British version. Traditionally, the fish is dipped in batter, not breadcrumbs. Some places here use American-style French fries or shoestring fries, but British chips are significantly thicker. Also, in England, they sprinkle salt and malt vinegar over fish and chips, something which we don’t normally do here.
Overall, My Father's Recipe did some justice to the fish and chips. Crunchy. Tantalizing.
Nasi lemak is a dish that comprises rice made fragrant with coconut cream and pandanus leaves. A light meal that is believed to be Malay in origin, it is traditionally accompanied by fried anchovies, sliced cucumbers, fried fish known as ikan selar, and a sweet chili sauce. Modern-day variations on the dish now offer an extensive array of other side dishes.
My Father's Recipe's Nasi Lemak may just be one of the best Nasi Lemak in the east!
In the Malay language, rojak fulfulls this down to a T. Variety of ingredients and mix them together into a tasty salad. ROjak has taken upon the meaning of diverse elements and even polar opposites being blended together.
The sweet and spicy sauce is what makes the fruit salad a rojak.
