Fashion Show (Invitation)

The term fashion usually applies to a prevailing mode of expression, but quite often applies to a personal mode of expression that may or may not adhere to prevailing ideals. Inherent in the term is the idea that the mode will change more quickly than the culture as a whole.

The terms "fashionable" and "unfashionable" are employed to describe whether someone or something fits in with the current popular mode of expression. The term is "fashion" is frequently used in a positive sense, as a synonym for glamour and style.

In this sense, fashions are a sort of communal art, through which a culture examines its notions of beauty and goodness. The term "fashion" is also sometimes used in a negative sense, as a synonym for fads, trends, and materialism.
I was at the fashion show at Raffles City. While I was sitting down, the rest of the gazillion people were standing for the 1 1/2 hours fashion show.
Sis, I'm sorry. If you told me you were there, I would have gotten a seat for you. *smiles*

The set-up and the stage and the lightings. Absolutely stunning.

And far front ...

... were the cameramen and their crews.

Oh my god! Do you see all those big shots?

AH! A close-up.

Oh Heavens! Do you know who they are? Really, do you know who they are?!

Evil Twin, "Who are they?"

How I know? I was asking all of you that question!

I was just snapping their photos. The show started late. Bloody hell!

And there was this pretty caucasian lady sitting in four rows in front of me. I know, I'm being such a pervert.

Evil Twin, "Right on!"

She look alittle like Avril Lavigne.

Beatrice Chia!

And then it started.

Seriously, a few of the models were sashaying too much and a few were catwalking too fast that I wasn't able to take photos of them.

Blurry!

Wah lao eh! Why this model just keep on walking? Why didn't she pose?!

The above photo; I just love the design.

BIAS

That's the theme one of the designers gave.

The dresses are in black and red.

The black.

I believe if I were to stand net to them, I will appear much shorter even without the high heels.

Stunning!

Look at how thin they are. Gosh!

Those cameramen in front of me just took the upper portion. They did not take the full body shot of the model. Why ah?

Evil Twin, "Don't question them. They are professionals."

So I decided to take photos like the professionals.

The red.

So elegant. Goddesses!

Lovely!

Fashion design is the applied art dedicated to the design of clothing and lifestyle accessories created within the cultural and social influences of a specific time.

Fashion designers may work under their own name, or for another designer name or brand. Designer brands which have a 'name' as their brand such as Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren are likely to be designed by a team of individual designers under the direction a designer director.

Fashion design differs from costume design due to its core product having a built in obsolescence usually of one to two seasons. A season is defined as either autumn/winter or spring/summer. Fashion design is generally considered to have started in the 19th century with Charles Frederick Worth who was the first person that sewed his label into the garments that he created.

While all articles of clothing from any time period are studied by academics as costume design, only clothing created after 1858 could be considered as fashion design.

Haute Couture The type of fashion design which predominated until the 1950s was "made-to-measure" or haute couture, (French for fine tailoring). A couture garment is made for an individual customer. Look and fit take priority over the cost of materials and the time it takes to make.

Mass Market These days the fashion industry relies more on mass market sales. This caters for a wide range of customers, producing ready-to-wear clothes in large quantities and standard sizes. Cheap materials, creatively used, produce affordable fashion.

Ready-to-Wear Ready-to-wear clothes are a cross between couture and mass market. They are not made for individual customers, but great care is taken in the choice and cut of the fabric. Clothes are made in small quantities to guarantee exclusivity, so they are rather costly.

I still think that all these are abit nightgown-ish!

Very plain...

Until..

Oh la la! Nice!

The Men's Collection

How did he manage to wear this? Look so tattered and torn.

Very stylish right? Imagine me wearing that on the streets.
Evil Twin, "You'll look horrendous!"
Designed by a China student.

China people often knows what they want. Their designs are flawless.

(Looking at the photo folder at my laptop) Wah Piang! Still got 300 photos more to upload. I shall upload them in the next entry.

Evil Twin, "There's one in only panty and bra right?"

Hmmm...
