Habitat Coffee located at 233 Upper Thomson Road

The other day, we went to Habitat Coffee which is located at 233 Upper Thomson Road.

Ice Brewed Lemon Tea - $4

This was a tad sweet but it had a refreshing taste overall! I usually crush the lemon bits and then stir it together with the drink for the scent.

(Above Photo): The Shrooms - $12

(Poached egg and sauteed mushroom on Brioche Bread topped with homemade Hollandaise sauce)

The eggs were poached really perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was creamy and tasty. The sauteed mushroom was not too salty, and the toast was crispy on the crust but soft on the bread. Do have it while it's hot, as the sauteed mushroom might cause the toast to be a little soggy after a while.

The Big Ben - $14

(Scrambled egg & honey baked ham on english fluff, 100gm chicken cheese sausage, oven baked tomato and mini potato pancakes)

I felt that adding the potato pancakes was a really interesting concept and I loved the sauce that accompanied this dish.

Truffle Fries - $8

Ok, the truffle fries here reminded me of the one I had at Little Diner. The portion wasn't as huge and it wasn't expensive. The truffle fries were as good as the one at Little Diner, if not better. It wasn't oily at all, and the truffle taste was strong even down to the bottom layer of fries. Yum!

Mama's Banana Pancakes

(House batter pancakes topped with maple syrup, caramelised bananas, drizzled with chocolate and strawberry syrup)

The pancakes looked so deceivingly simple, but packed a whole lot of YUM in them! They were surprisingly fluffy and soft, and sandwiched by the warm caramelised bananas, it was really delicious!

Service:
We had to order and pay at the cashier at the same time so there wasn't any service charge. The food was served fast enough though I felt that they were a little too eager when it came to clearing our plates/drinks.

Atmosphere:
Loved how quaint this place was! It was like a hidden gem found at Upper Thomson Road. This cafe had 2 levels, and we were seated upstairs with its exquisite old-school decor. Great for small group gatherings for 2-4 people as the cafe as rather small.

What they're famous for:
Truffle Fries, The Shrooms
