Bangkok Day 2: Chatuchak Weekend Market

Getting to Chatuchak has become a lot easier since the Skytrain system opened and now you can simply take the Skytrain to the end terminal called Mochit which is exactly where the market is located.

Among the largest markets in the world, Chatuchak Weekend Market seems to unite everything buyable, from used vintage sneakers to baby squirrels. JJ, as it’s also known, is the ideal place to finally pick up those gifts for people back home, not to mention a pretty item or two for your own home.

The market is only open at the weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 7am until late. Some of the stalls do open during the week but not sufficient to warrant a visit.

Visited a tidbit shop in one of the lanes at Chatuchak. Funny thing is, the shop owner recognized me. The moment I stepped into his shop, he stared at me for a couple of seconds. And then he asked if I was Issac. I said YES.

And then he said, "I read your blog." You can't imagine how happy I was to hear that from him.

The mannequin looked so REAL!

Delicious Thai food! And you definitely must try their coconut ice cream when you visit Chatuchak!
