Food Tasting: Siam Society

Siam Society firmly believes in keeping the authentic thai taste while thinking out of the box to recreate some of the traditional thai food.

Siam Society is founded by two brothers who love to eat thai food but find that most of the thai food found locally have been too toned down to suit local taste.

In order to bring authentic tasting thai food to Singaporeans, the two brothers decided to start Siam Society and their instruction to the chefs is "cook like how you will cook for the thais".

However, the two brothers are fun loving individuals who are not bounded by traditions, norms or what say you (in another word, constantly thinking out of the box) and they have
decided to add some modern twist to the thai food while preserving the authentic taste.

Shawn, Elgena, Darryl and I enjoyed their food. And the bosses are pretty friendly.

Thai Style Morning ($9.00) savoury and spicy pow wow!

Clear Tom Yam Seafood Soup ($10 small, $16.50 large) a signature soup flavored with fragrant lemongrass, fresh galangal root and kaffir lime leaf. I love the spiciness! It felt as if like I was in Thailand drinking their clear Tom Yam Seafood Soup!

The green curry chicken ($13.50/$14.50/$15.50) was Shawn's favorite! As for me, the green curry chicken was not that bad but I still prefer the clear tom yum seafood!

Legendary Thai-style Weeping Tiger (Grilled Sirloin Beef, $24) is served with their homemade side sauce. The meat is well marinated. The meat was full of flavors, I didn't really need to dip them into the homemade side sauce!

Deep Fried Pork Knuckles ($35) is marinated for one full day in Siam Society’s special sauce before being deep fried to perfection to create a crispy crackling exterior.

Steamed Seabass in Chilli Lime ($32) has got to be one of my favorites! Mouth-watering! It has all the flavors combined into one!

With one of the bosses of Siam Society!

I rate Siam Society 4/5.
