Year 2O88 - Expedition, Excavate, Essence

Photography: Leonard (Pix. Story)
The Fashion landscape in Singapore is now the hegemony of Ion. Aesthetics and appearance have achieved their peak, but at a price.

The traditional and ethnic look is fast disappearing.

Ion, in an effort to preserve the original flavor of Singapore's fashion, sends a probe back in time.

The expedition team led by the fashionista leader, Gerald and Josie here, send fourth the 4 fashion guardian .... The 4 girls have since returned....

Each with a wisdom of the past encapsulated in the time traveling crystal...

Fashion Guardian : Indriani

Basking within the inner sanctum of a temple, Indriani channels the statuesque and superfluous signature of traditional indian fashion. Divinely.

Fashion Guardian: Wei Wei

A successful songstress in a reputed tea house in Chinatown, Wei Wei is replete in gold and red, colors favoured by the Chinese which are simultaneously prosperous and provocative. Like a nightingale trapped om a cage.

Fashion Guardian: Bobo

Transformed as a matriarch, Bobo carries her look as magnificently as she does her title. Edgy and experimental with shapes and fabric but embellished with traditional Peranakan accessories. Emblems of identity and totems of wealth.

Fashion Guardian: Diana

Typical of the Colonial architecture painted primarily in black and white, Diana keeps her silhouette sharp as she takes her daily stroll into the seenity of the garden. Undaunted.

The captivating storyline. The great pictures just stop time. They capture something that did not continue. It just was then, and that was the perfect moment. It wasn’t the moment before. It wasn’t the moment after. It was that moment.

Photography is people's lives touching the environment that surrounds them. It is making connections. Photographs bridge the gap between cultures, landscapes, and generations. Through photographs, we gain the ability to remember, and that is a powerful thing.
