Huang Ji @ Maxwell Food Centre.

From 1 modest hawker stall to 5, in addition to a factory located in Johor, Malaysia; from a banker to a young hawker to help her father man the branch at Maxwell Food Centre; these are the changes that have occurred from over a decade ago for Huang Ji Noodles Store. They have gone a long way in establishing its name here in the local hawker scene, and rightfully so.

Kelly Wong, the lady behind the stall explained, “Our menu caters for the office crowd: we offer options such as lean meat without the fat, sliced fish, or no carb versions of our dishes.” She added, “we also use kai-lan, which, although more expensive, is healthier than iceberg lettuce.”

It’s rare to see the younger generation like Kelly manage a hawker store. Huang Ji is the extension of her father’s F&B manufacturing business, and most of the raw ingredients found in her shop are manufactured by him. “The beef balls, noodles, soup base and sauces… we make everything ourselves. It’s all hand-made, and we know exactly what goes into production.”

The serving was very fast from the moment you place your order and the serving of the noodles, highly efficient operations to maximize the revenue.

Char Siew Wonton Tomato Noodles.

The tomato noodles is the first and one of its kinds, in that it is produced with the addition of real tomatoes in the blend. Preservatives are also used minimally in prevention of having its taste altered and in view of the increasing number of health-conscious patrons. I don't really fancy anything that is mixed with tomato but this Char Siew Wonton Tomato Noodles are bloody mouth-watering! Also generous amount of KAILAN.

Beef Brisket Noodles.

I love the beef so much! I just wanted more and more! The beef's tender and the noodles are fantastic!

Char Siew Wonton Noodles.

The noodles came with good quality roast pork (Char Siew) and superb wanton dumplings, You can taste and smell the aroma of the noodles. The noodles by default already taste good but by adding the homemade chilli, it became heavenly.

Look at the long queue! It's like never-ending!
