You will Feel at Home at Flee Away Cafe

It wasn't that difficult to locate Flee Away Cafe. I alighted at Little India station and it was like a 8 minutes walk to the cafe. If you're really lost, use your GPS!

The furnitures were mixed and matched with some retro, some old-school and some modern elements. It is a fun and cute little cafe and very cosy.

Top 5 Problems Faced By The Google Generation

I believe the more important issues are going to be the challenges facing school administrators managing teachers born in the year 2000 or later, known as "Generation Z."

Generation Z teachers and aides entering the field beginning in the year 2020 will never have experienced a world without: computers, Internet, all-in-one printers, Smartphones, Wi-Fi, digital music, email, YouTube, Google Earth, Facebook, Twitter, or Wikipedia. As a result, school administrators of this generation will face the following challenges managing these teachers:

1. Dependency on Technology: While technology in the classroom has many strengths as a teaching aide, it can also become a weakness in that it may create a dependency for the teacher. Furthermore, technology innovations are advancing so quickly, for example, that people are now able to mentally interact with computers and use their brains to move the cursor on screen (Smartboards will become as obsolete as chalkboards). How soon before teachers and students are both "plugged in" and communicating using only mental interaction? A Generation Z teacher who has never taught without modern technology may find it challenging should the technology become unavailable.
2. Inability to articulate: Despite the plethora of Internet blogs, Generation Z is trained to communicate with each other using 140 characters or less (Twitter), 15-second videos or less (Instagram and Vine), texting, chat abbreviations (LOL, TTYS, etc), emoticons, social networking posts and terse email messages. When it comes to fully expressing themselves -- academically, socially, emotionally, professionally -- their challenge will be articulating their thoughts and delivering a message human-to-human.

3. Attention span of teachers: Many studies have been dedicated to understanding the diminishing attention span of students, but in a future era with aggressive 'information overload' techniques intended to capture every free second of your attention, Generation Z teachers -- once the subjects of attention span studies themselves -- will find it challenging to focus on delivering a solid 45-90 minute lesson. Try having a conversation with a 20-something and wait for a break in the conversation; if they don't reach for their phone to check email or post a social update, it's only because their battery has died.
4. Peer and supervisor relationships: By the year 2020, new teachers entering the job market will be technologically savvy, but will they have the interpersonal skills to be able to work in a peer environment and subordinate to a supervisor from an earlier generation? With technology advancing the way we express ourselves and communicate, will Generation Z teachers have the conflict resolution skills necessary to work in an academic environment? Their challenge will be to step away from the dependency of technology to build and maintain relationships among peers and supervisors.
5. Conflicting information: Google Glass is an example of an input device facilitating instant access to information.  With students coming to class with input devices attached to their person, the probability rises that for every opinion taught in the classroom there are 10 conflicting opinions being presented to the student almost immediately through the Internet -- much of which from questionable sources. The challenge of the Generation Z teacher will be how to respond to the deluge of misinformation students will be able to access almost immediately.
The world of education has come a long way since the little red schoolhouse, and while technology has greatly improved our quality of life, it has to some degree impaired our ability to communicate, think and organise.

OOTD: #NUM #ZapiShoes #BOY

The Zapi shoes are really damn comfy. I feel like flying. LOL! Boy cap paired up with Unicorn tank top and #Yacht outer wear.

Tried to make my shirt fly. In the end, the camera captured my 'cramped' face. LOL!

Why Is The World Obsessed With Car Races?

Ever since the invention of motor car drivers,  people have been obsessed with speed. But how did this lust for the ultimate fast ride evolve into one of the most popular sports in the world?

Well, it all started in America, in the dry lake beds in the California Deserts. "Drag racing" which is a type of motor racing in which automobiles or motorcycles compete, usually two at a time, to be the first to cross the finish line.

During the 1930s as engines got better and drivers got braver, speeds began topping 100mph. But it wasn't until after the world war II that a bunch of kids with cars, hanging out with nowhere in particular to go, turned into something more serious.

Popularity grew steadily, but drag racing remained largely an underground pastime. Then in Europe, Formula One automobile racing took its roots in the European Grand Prix Championship of the 1920s and 1930s.

The foundation of Formula One began in 1946, which included worldwide championships, where other countries could that part in the championships of Formula One and the rest is history.

Today, advertising and tourism has a huge part to play in F1 races. Formula One also collaborates with famous artists, and hotels to draw the crowd and both work hand in hand.  So if you are coming to watch the race or the artists, you are still in for a great time!

Scott and His Ice Kachang and Chendol

And so I treat Scott to Ice Kachang and Chendol. Desserts he have never tasted before! Glad he loves them!

I Jumped for Joy at 6 Prawns and a Beer

It was really easy to locate 6 Prawns and a Beer. It is situated near a bus stop and with a big signage, you wouldn't be able to miss the place.

Quite casual atmosphere. There's TVs where you can enjoy your favorite sports on the sports channel while drinking affordable drinks and tantalizing food. Plenty of booze! It's the perfect place for people to hang out, chit chat and hang loose.

Banana Bread Beer (Go Banana with this award winning ale) $16.90.

I prefer the Bana Bread Banana. There's a certain sweetness to it.

Orion Japanese Rice Lager $12.90.

Pale yellow in color with dissipating head. Light grain aromas with a faint hint of hops on the nose.

Rekorderlig Wild Berries Cider $16.90.

Rekorderlig Wild Berries Cider has the nose of fresh, juicy wild country berries with the subtle undertones of the Pear base combine wondrously in this semi-sweet cider to produce a slightly drier finish on the palate. Pour chilled straight onto ice or mix a handful of Raspberries and Blueberries (Fresh or Frozen) with crushed ice for extra indulgence.

Libertine Black Ale $16.90.

Libertine Black Ale is a 7.2% wickedly decadent black beast of a beer.

Bags of flavour and loads of hops.

La Trappe -Witte Trappist $12.90.

It's quite fresh and light. Only top-grade organic ingredients are used to brew the La Trappe - Witte Trappist.

There's also a corner for you to throw darts! Fascinating!

All Day Breakfast Pizza.
Everything you loved for breakfast on a dough, $17.90.

Love the crust, crunchy and with all those toppings on the pizza, what's not to love?

Pizza is probably my favorite food. And the beauty of it is that it can be individualized to suit anyone's taste.

Crispy Prawn Burger, $13.90.

Crunchy, firm, crisp texture when you first bite into the prawn burger.

6 Prawns with white wine cream, $12.90.

The thick, creamy sauce went well with the prawns. I actually wanted more. THE CRAVE.

6 grilled prawns, $12.90.

You know, any dishes that has prawn in it are the BOMB. The prawns were grilled to perfection and

6 prawns and a pasta (cooked in their homemade spicy sauce), $15.90.

This has to be one of the best pasta I've tasted in Singapore. Tantalizing. Magnificent sauce, prawns, and vege. This blend of ingredients contributes the flavor, texture, and appearances of the pasta. As I twirl the fork of pasta against the spoon, the expectation of silky smooth noodles gliding down my throat salivates the glands on my tongue. While eating such a well desired meal it’s easy to forget my manners, I may slurp the noodles so fast that the sauce may end up on my face.

Salted fish truffle fried rice, $13.90.

I am totally impress with he salted fish truffle rice Aglio Olio prawn fried rice. The moment the waiter served us the dish, I was wondering what was inside the glass. Further inspection, it was the fried rice!

Very innovative! It's also a great way to keep the fried rice piping hot still. Between the salted fish truffle and Aglio Olio prawn fried rice, I prefer the latter.

Aglio olio prawn fried rice, $12.90.

With Chef Steven.

He's quirky and funny. And he creates the dish with a great mind. He is always thinking outside the box!
