10 Signs You've Found the ONE

Here are 10 (out of so many) simple things to look out for in a relationship:
1. Your partner is your best friend. You're 110% yourself, you feel free, and enjoy the little things in life together.
2. Your partner is the one you want next to you in your deepest, darkest moments.
3. You're capable of being away from each other, but neither of you like it one bit.
4. Your partner is your #1 choice for the person you want with you when you splurge on your favorite treat, watch an embarrassing television show, or forget your manners at the dinner table because you're too exhausted that day.
5. The two of you compromise with each other. You don't always get your way.
6. You care about his or her needs more than your own.
7. You both know that throughout life you might change and grow, but you'll always change and grow together. Life is about enjoying the stages with each other.
8. When something happens—terrible, exciting or completely insignificant—he or she is always the first person you want to tell.
9. He or she balances you out, and you do the same. Where one is weaker, the other is stronger.
10. You know that no matter what, he or she will always stand by you and be on your side.
Bonus: You both take a moment, every day, to think about just how lucky you are to have found your most perfect person on this earth.

Firecrackers and Bombshells!

Event: “Firecrackers &  Bombshells” by Playground Entertainment
Venue: Play Den @ The Arts House
Run: 15th – 19th Jan 2014

Directed by Jalyn Han

Playwright: Jacke Chye

Cast: Karen Tan, Ernest Seah, Loong Seng Onn, Sonja Steinmetz, Bruce San, Michael Tan, Beatrice Chien, Timothy Wan, Dorothy Khoo

Mayhem and catfights are not on the menu for Lunar New Year but what do you expect when family secrets are exposed during the festivities?

Ma’s a racist, Da Sao is not who she appears to be, Er Ge wants to move out with his lover, and San Sao just wants to be Daughter-in-Law of the Year. And what secret does Ah Yee have that has her ostracised from every reunion dinner…apart from always conveniently ‘forgetting’ to exchange back the mandarin oranges?

Inaugural productions are always a wonderful thing to be a part of as it signifies the birth of a fantastic new theatre venture and possibly the start of many great adventures to come.

A comedy by playwright Jacke Chye is about the mayhem that ensues when family secrets are exposed during the Chinese New Year festivities. Presented by Playground Entertainment, the cast includes Karen Tan, Ernest Seah, Sonja Steinmetz and Michael Tan.

We laughed, we cried, we smiled. That was how enjoyable the play was.

I Am Not An Angry Man But This Is Too Much

I wrote this in my facebook 2 hours ago when we were queuing for a cab!

We have been waiting in the taxi queue and finally gotten a cab when abruptly a lady dashed in front of us , and opened the cab door. Oh no nonono. Darryl and I dashed into the cab she was on and scolded her. "We waited so long for a taxi and you just cut our queue?!! Get out!" And then I just sat beside her refusing to budge. In the end she got out! I am already late and fancy someone tries to snatch a cab from us?!!

She's not local. Why? Why? Can't you foreign people just for once obey the rules?

SMRT isn't the World First Class

Taipei Metro MRT provides charging stations and power sockets and allows commuters to use them free of charge. Meanwhile in our own country, SMRT fines a poor student $400 for using the power socket (link: http://bit.ly/1f08H2M)

Train break downs, still had the audacity to increase the fares! Bullshit!

Thank You Samsung!

Food Review: Sushi Express

This is one of the cheapest sushi bar in town. Everything here is priced at $1.50. On top of that, there are free wasabi, green tea and ginger.

With the idea of having a fast and cheap sushi meal thus there wasn't much effort being put into the deco. All you can see here are just seats ,sushi bar counters and conveyor belts.

Although it's named Sushi express, I have encountered several time that there is a significant waiting time for certain food to be out. On top of that, the plastic covers used to cover the food are being recycled. If the above didn't concern you, then just tuck in and enjoy the food.

Food here are relatively valued for money and certain sushi e.g Seared Salmon Belly sushi, Scallop, Lobster salad sushi and cream puffs are considered very tasty.

Do give it a try if you don't mind to queue.

Food Review: Toby's The Dessert Asylum

An overall dark theme permeates Toby's The Dessert Asylum, with its quirky menu, dark decor and madcap naming.

They have an excellent location, next to the huge glass wall which offers a good view, but doesn't dovetail with the overall dark theme they are supposed to portray. Service is above average at Toby's The Dessert Asylum.

One of their staffs, VJAY, entertained us with her wacky antics and her very funny but yet detailed explanations to each and every food she recommended to us.

The food is served rather quickly.

Food Tasting: A For Arbite

Opened in March 2013, A for Arbite is the sister to Arbite @ Serangoon Gardens. While they have things in common (like hearty brunches and handmade pasta), A for Arbite has a special focus at dinner time on a food and drink pairing menu.

Choose three or four dishes from the menu, and then pick one of the recommended drinks to enhance the flavours - much more exciting than just an entree and a main!

Of course, they have some pretty fantastic desserts, like a rich dark chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, or a very twisted Cookies & Cream Cheesecake. All of this is in a relaxed
and friendly atmosphere too - they want everyone to have fun along with their food.

The ambience is perfect for couples or even a group of friends to chill and relax and enjoy the good food at A For Arbite.
