The Obsession with Youth

So what's happening?

Madame Tussaud's in Sincity just unveiled a freshly sculpted Madonna piece, inspired by her 2012 performance featuring lavish Givenchy outfits with the most extravagant headdress - embedded with Swarovski crystals, of course.

It's amazing, really, how Madge manages to stay on top of her game and maintain her coveted title of 'Queen of Pop' at the centre of the industry, at the baffling age of 54. I've always admired her for her unceasing energy, purest determination, and as her bestie and international British fashion designer would put it, the fact that 'she doesn't compromise herself in whatever she does, which is why she's managed to be so brave all this time...making it okay to be sexual as a woman'.

And speaking of fashion, all you Haute couture fans out there must be wondering what the Material Girl is donning these days.

A mere sample of Madonna's outfits for her fabulous MDNA tour were designed by her long time friend and in my opinion the greatest designer ever, Jean Paul Gaultier.

From left to right: Glam Rock (on the set of 'Turn Up The Radio'), Skin tight Blacks coupled with Chanel gloves (Girl Gone Wild), Fall/Winter 2012/2013 Jean Paul Gaultier (Vogue), Joan of Arc-inspired look with Swarovski crystals embedded (Like A Prayer) and Classy Cheer Leader (Express Yourself/Born This Way).

Ain't she fabulous? And to top it all off she delivers her performances with complete class, style and glamour. The amount of energy she exudes, especially during the choreography of her last song of the show, 'Celebration', is simply mind blowing. With shoes customed made and designed by Prada, Madonna's everlasting youth and art of constant reinvention have endeared her to stay on TOP for almost 3 decades now.

So this begs the necessary stage of pondering. As we age, are we going to allow ourselves to be held captive by its effects? Or are we going to age not just gracefully, but fabulously - like how the Matriarch has so finely taught us to? Looks like Estee Lauder's slogan advert for their Advanced Night Repair serum is starting to make sense as we 'Start Young, and Stay Young'.

The Energy Never Dies, people. Always remember. You will live, You will love. And you will Dance, Again...
