Simple, Subtle or Sexy?

So it appears that our dear Contagion actress decided to become the face of the new Hugo Boss perfume for women, Boss Nuit Pour Femme.

The rather interesting thing is that I never realised the Simplicity a perfume ad, the kind of Subtlety it can emanate, and of course, the Sexiness that these ads (sometimes deemed very racy especially those of Jean Paul Gaultier, Gucci and the latest perfumes by Madonna and Lady Gaga, Truth or Dare and The Fame, respectively) can exude. In this case by Gwen, she dons a LBD, with dainty heels (probably by the said brand) and coupled with immaculate make up, a fabulously glamourous figure emerges from the room of a hotel.

We've always known Gwen to be the face of class, and being timelessly classic, which is why the likes of Coach, Tods and now Boss, three fashion houses reputed for their simplicity and minimalistic masterpieces in apparel and accessories, have constantly sought her to be the face of their brand. Further, what better way to advertise than to have a perfectly (well, almost) sculpted lady-figure walk your dress on the red carpet? Gwen has worked several looks flawlessly, captivating crowds, inclusive of designers, fans and even other stars.

See it to believe it: She shines like Clare Danes in Stardust, and truly parallels your typical image of a Greek goddess, not Athena, but an Aphrodite (Kylie Minogue much?!)

So we congratulate Gwenyth for finally stepping out of her 'face of innocence' into the face of sheer sexiness, decadence and sensuality. This is truly a perfume ad, one that actually says, 'Hey, if you want to be as sexy as moi, you know you gotta get it'.

So what're you waiting for ladies, the pull factors are far too extensive - the accords of white floral, wood, powder, fruity and balmy scents are just, irresistible.

This will be your night, unless you want to Marry The Night. Thumbs down for Lady Gaga's ad for her FAME. Period.

I'm sorry Mother Monster but this really isn't classy at all. But oh well, you were Born This Way ;)

Maddy's Truth or Dare features her classic cross, with hints of her 1989 hit in the Dick Tracy album, Vogue. At 54, even she does a more fabulous  job than the a-tad-repulsive wannabe.
Final Words: Think about how you want to present that inner confidence when carrying a fragrance. Will it be classic chic like Gwen, grotesque provocativeness like Gaga or sensual class like Madonna?
