(Media Invite): Hoshino Coffee

In Hoshino Coffee, they only use only premium Arabica roasted coffee beans selected by their very own coffee blend specialist Master Kanno.

With pride and devotion, they serve this specialty coffee to us, "Hand-Dripped".

This Japanese coffee import specializes in hand-dripped coffee, which is lighter and cleaner in taste as compared to kopi and the espresso drinks that we are familiar with. A must try is the plump and fluffy souffle pancake served with fruits, ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled with maple syrup.

The desserts are worth coming back for once in a while. The French toast is certainly satisfying and gratifying with the generous dollop of heavy cream and maple syrup.

The Demi Glace Omu was totally awesome. Must try. The egg is so delicious. Tomato rice blended well with the curry sauce.

The Matcha soufflé was soft and fluffy inside, which, for a texture person like me, was really satisfying. Soufflé is made from beaten egg whites and cream, and usually have a pouffy kind of texture I would expect. I loved that the outside of the soufflé was slightly crusty, hiding a super soft, almost creamy, centre. I love it when food offers contrasts like that. The Matcha soufflé wasn't too sweet; in fact, the matcha flavour came out rather well, and there was only a hint of sweetness to accompany the matcha.

The Soufflé Pancake is the most hyped about item on the Hoshino menu. It also came with a little handmade whipped cream at the top. I am not sure if it was because we were focusing on the Matcha soufflé and hence turned to the pancake when it had lost a little of its warmth, but I found the texture a little hard.
