Snow White And the Huntsman

After a long period of like 6 months. I finally delved in the opportunity to watch the 2012 remake of the classic Snow White & The 7 Dwarves fairy tale - Snow White and the Huntsman. The film, featuring Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart, left a blithering message that has been reigning in my head for almost a century now. The same old concept about Youth, Beauty, Age and Immortality.

The storyline is somewhat ditto as that of the original Disney film, but in this case, the Queen is much more fabulous (Theron), and she has a brother that submits to her like someone who submits to another person in a hopeless relationship. And of course, the Queen's goal is to remain the fairest in the land - this time because she needs that to survive, and Snow White (Stewart) apparently happens to be a tad more beautiful than her. Okay, I'm not going to spoil the story for those of you who haven't seen it yet, but the main crux of the plot (just like any other plot) is that the Queen gets defeated, and Snow White ascends the throne as Queen. All in all, it was a real feast for the eyes, with a myriad of effects that take you to a mystical land, with creatures you've never seen before - really stretches human creativity huh? But there are some parts of the film that highlight Theron's beauty that I'd like to raise attention to.

She somehow bathes in a white liquid - most likely milk - and that probably keeps her skin soft and plump, just like what Cleopatra did, except with rose water and Alexander the Great. We should try that soon.

And this is the result. Even in a black, raven-clad gown with a skewed background, Charlize still looks like she hasn't aged a day. If only life were that simple. 'You don't know how lucky it is to be someone who can't grow old...You see child, love always betrays us'. I agree, almost completely.

And our dear Stewart pales in comparison even in this highly edited and graphed picture. Doesn't it remind you of Twilight? Somehow? Speaking of which, I can't wait for part 2 of Breaking Dawn. It's gonna be a blast.

Nevertheless, our beautiful ladies looked absolutely gorgeous on the red carpet of the premiere of the said movie. Charlize Theron (left) sizzles in Christian Dior Haute Couture - looking like a real queen. Kristen Steward (middle) in Marchesa and model Lily Cole in yet another black gown by Alexander McQueen. Who wore it best? And who was the fairest on the red carpet? You decide.

And remember, 'By fairest blood it is done, and only by fairest blood is it undone...'
