You Can.
When asked if Asia was a good place to be gay, Dede Oetomo, a gay man from Indonesia said:
"It can be once you get beyond the problems with your family, your school, your workplace, but if you can get beyond that then it could be a good place. People are actually quite accepting of people who are useful to the community. They may find gay people, lesbians and transgenders rather unusual at first but if you can prove yourself to be useful to the community, they can accept you".

Standing Up For Yourself
Standing out from the crowd is hard in any country. But what if your sexuality was outlawed and practising it could land you a lengthy jail term? And what if there was no word in your language to describe the very essence of your being?
Will you stand up for yourself? Will you proudly tell people that you are gay or lesbian?
Let's analyse Lady GaGa's Born This Way lyrics more intensely now.
It doesn't matter if you love him or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
'Cause you were born this way, baby
Meaning; It doesn't matter if you love somebody of the same sex, or Him (aka God), because you were born that way.
There's nothin' wrong with lovin' who you are
She said, 'cause He made you perfect, babe
So hold your head up, girl and you you'll go far
Meaning; God made everybody perfect, so celebrate who you are.
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
Baby, I was born this way
Ooh, there ain't no other way, baby, I was born this way
Meaning; There is no other way to be but yourself!
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be
Meaning; Reference to others who wrongfully hate drag queens because of who they are:
don't be a drag, just be a queen! Stop hating on others because of their preferences.
In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth
Meaning; Be wise and love everybody around you. Respect the truth.
Mi amore vole fe yah
A fifteenth-century saying that supposedly means "Love cannot exist without trust".
The breadth of gay and lesbian experience in East Asia is incredibly varied. It ranges from Chinese lesbians who call themselves 'female comrades' for want of a better word, to 'Muk nar' or transvestites in Islamic Malaysia.
Even when there are no specific laws prohibiting homosexuality, discrimination occurs through other more obscure laws, such as in Vietnam where men are forbidden from wearing 'weird or sorcerous garments' or in Taiwan where a law against 'overt lewdness in public places' can give police the power to intimidate the gay community.

Live for yourself.

Homosexuality Gaining Wider Acceptance in the U.S.
Younger generations are leading the way toward greater tolerance and social acceptance of gays and lesbians in the United States.
While the nation remains deeply divided on gay marriage, the vast majority of Americans support basic civil liberties and freedom of expression for homosexual people.
I found some statistic on the internet and decided to share them with you guys.
In 1973, 70 percent of Americans felt homosexuality was "always wrong," the report revealed. By 2010, the percentage of those who felt that homosexuality was "always wrong" had dropped to 44 percent.
The findings show a clear "trend toward greater tolerance regarding homosexuality," said Tom W. Smith, director of the General Social Survey at NORC and author of the NORC report, in news release last week.
The researchers found a dramatic increase in support for same-sex marriage over the last 20 years, jumping from an 11 percent approval rate in 1988 to 46 percent in 2010. Meanwhile, 40 percent remain opposed.
"There is a large generation gap on the issue [of same-sex marriage]," noted Smith. While 64 percent of those under age 30 support gay marriage, just 27 percent of those aged 70 or older feel the same.
The findings, based on a national survey of more than 2,000 people, also showed more general acceptance of homosexuality among younger people. In 2010, only 26 percent those under age 30 said they believed same-sex behavior is "always wrong."
However, 63 percent of those 70 and older held that belief.
Public attitudes on the issue are highly polarized, the researchers found. Although 44 percent of those surveyed felt that sex between two adults of the same sex is "always wrong," 41 percent thought such behavior was "not wrong at all."
Only 11 percent of the people surveyed fell somewhere in the middle.
Although the nation remains divided on feelings towards homosexuality, a significant increase occurred in support for civil liberties for gays and lesbians over the past two decades.
Support for a gay person's right to speak publically jumped to 86 percent in 2010 -- up from 62 percent in 1972. Meanwhile, support for homosexuals teaching at colleges or universities rose to 84 percent in 2010, up from 48 percent in 1973.
The researchers also found more people approved of library books that cast a favorable light on homosexuality. Support for these books rose from 54 percent in 1973 to 78 percent in 2010.

The Oscars: Best Dressed!
It's a tried and tested look for Angelina Jolie, but it's one that works. She's a vixen in black velvet by Atelier Versace.
Tina Fey keeps it classic in a strapless navy gown with peplum waist by Valentino.
The Oscars; The 'Not-So-Wow' !
I love Sandra Bullock alot. I've loved her since SPEED!
Pretty as the embellishment on her floor-sweeping gown is, it's far from flattering thanks to the saggy ruched waist.
Love the gown but Cameron Diaz's choice falls flat in a tone too close to her complexion!
Emma Stone opts for a bold splash of colour in a flowing fuchsia gown by Giambattista Valli, featuring a romantic necktie.
Are you giving yourself away as a gift to someone, Emma?
I love Meryl Streep to DEATH. I love her when she was in Devil Wears Prada! But I felt her cleavage was going to spill out from that oversized gown.

Meryl Streep Won LEAD ACTRESS
Meryl Streep won the Oscar for lead actress Sunday at the 84th Academy Awards, for her role playing former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady."
Though the film itself was greeted with mixed reviews, Streep's performance received universal acclaim. In the film, Streep portrays Thatcher throughout her life and career, beginning in her later years and looking back.
This was Streep's third Oscar for lead actress, but her first since "Sophie's Choice" in 1982. Additionally, it was her 17th overall nomination.

Universal Studio Singapore For The WIN!
Fantastic! I don't mind going to USS over and over again! And no, I did not write the crazy Galactica rides and I will not ride that EVER! Any rides that have got to do with heights, I'll pass!
Look at the queue for the Transformer ride! Darn long! I've been to USS before but that was before the Transformer ride open.
It was worth the wait and long queue!
Then we took the Mummy Ride. It is definitely the best ride and will always be in USS. I rode the ride more than 5 times! I'll never get sick of it!
Then we went to Shrek 4D. Awesome! Though I know what was coming, I still went for the Shrek 4D again!
We ate at Loius and boy the portion was huge!
Look at the PIZZA!
After lunch, we went to the Madagascar ride!
I love to MOVE IT MOVE IT!
Jeffrey, Derek and J really wanted to ride the merry-go-round so I just accompanied them! LOL!
Can I live in this castle? Can I just escape from reality?
Then we went to watch a musical!
Guess who is that FRANKIE guy?
He's TOM RAGEN!
I was too tired so I just let the dino eat me up!
We definitely had fun at USS!
