Record Breaker

Pop star Katy Perry is now a record breaker after spending 52 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 chart with her singles from current album Teenage Dream.

The 26-year-old's latest tune E.T. fell from last week's top spot, but it's still in the top 10 after five weeks - ensuring Perry's singles have spent an entire year there. Her year in the chart began with hit song California Gurls, which debuted in May 2010, it was then followed by her tunes Teenage Dream, Firework and E.T.

The wife of Brit funnyman Russell Brand has beaten Ace of Base's record run in 1993 and 1994.
