Lady Gaga. Artpop, 2013. Or so they say. I mean, Gaga has talked about the album since last year and after several release dates, it has now been said to be released in the last quarter of 2013. Will it be pushed back even further and end up being Artpop 2014 instead? What do you think?
"When asked if she felt pressured about the new record, Gaga said she would be worried if there wasn’t any pressure, because it helps her work. She said she knows what we want; and that’s fun, dirty, dance music, and there’s no shortage of it on ARTPOP."
But in true Gaga style, Artpop promises to be an amazing album. Gaga has claimed that it is her "first real album". I loved the Born This Way album which transformed from an album into a movement, with the Born This Way Ball and ultimately how we view LGBT rights. How many times have we heard the phrase "I was born this way"?
If anything, Gaga has always been a sincere and honest artist, whose voice is lent to those who go without one. So if she says the album is going to be amazing, it probably is. Whether the critics would agree, would be a different thing altogether. Only time will tell I guess. One thing is for sure though, Little Monsters all over the world are in huge anticipation of this album. I hope it does well. We want to see Gaga back on the billboards!
