She on the other hand blatently looks up at him, and puts her hand on her thigh as a sexual gesture, and as a means of self-comforting . She is, in essence, checking in with him to see if he is responding to her. With [Robert,] she was always aloof and he was always smiling and all over her. She was way too sure of his love for her. Now she isn't quite so sure with Rupert, so she is checking in."
